Grandmaster Chen, the last surviving doctor of Wing Chun style of martial arts, arrives in Tianjin with a desire to open the Martial Arts School. Upon defeating all the disciples of Grandmaster Zheng, Chen receives an offer from Zheng for the establishment of a school, which Chen rejected. Zheng threatened to drive Chen out of the city. He gives Chen another proposal: If Chen can train a pupil to defeat Tianjin’s eight schools, Chen will be allowed to open his own school. Zheng revealed that he plans to defeat the disciple after defeating eight schools, thus enhancing his reputation. Meanwhile, Chen decides that he should marry a local woman, and propose to a waitress named Zhao. One day, Chen and Zhao are close to the thugs, whom Chen easily beat. It draws Geng’s attention to a local rickshaw man who goes to Chen’s residence. Chen accepts Geng’s courageous personality and decides to take Geng as his disciple.

Geng becomes a singularity in Wing Chun and helps Chen achieve some urgent victory. However, it is in the grip of an organized crime leader named Madame Zoe, who attacks Chen, forcing the latter to distance himself from Geng. Later, Zhao finds out that Chen intends to deceive Geng, which prompted Chen to get him out of the house. Zheng was visited by an alumnus, Lin, who is now an officer in the army. Lin urges Zheng to fight with him on camera, so he can send the film to the Viceroy. Zheng beat Lin well in sparrowing, but Lin ambushed Zheng and seriously injured him, indicating that he had a secret hand in Madame Zoe’s employment. Zheng decides to leave Tianjin and settle in Brazil. Chen, feeling that she and Geng are in danger due to Madame Zoe, offers to pick up Geng and leave Tianjin, but Madamzo prohibits them, because she does not want to be known as a bully by the public. Instead, she allows Chen to open the school for a year, after which he should leave Tianjin, and send thugs to kill Geng. When she fails, she sends Lin to attack Geng. Geng has been stabbed and released in the country of Tianjin, but he opts to return to Tianjin instead of seeking medical help, where he dies of anaemia.
