Movie Plot: In the late 2030s, solar flames irradiate the earth, killing 99% of the world’s population. Survivors gather in a network of safe cities and build primitive humanoid robots as pilgrims to help rebuild and operate in harsh environments. These robots have two irrevocable protocols: they cannot damage any form of life, and they cannot repair, modify or change themselves or other robots in any way. Initially seen as the salvation of mankind, when they fail to prevent the advance of desertification, they are withdrawn for manual labor. Apart from the pilgrimes (functional aircraft shortages or other transport stops travel and cars are a rarity), society has re-licked and humanity is on the verge of extinction.

In 2044, Jack Woacon – an insurance investigator for the ROC that manufactures company pilgrims – investigates a report by Wallace, a police officer who shot a robot he claims he was modifying himself. Jack told the robot that he hid a rare nuclear battery that could drive the robot indefinitely. The next day, Jack follows a robot that was stealing parts. When he puts him in the corners, he fires himself. Jack saved the remains and guessed his owner, Robert, that no one would “Clock maker.” Maybe, a person who illegally modifies robots, overcoming other protocols. Incredible, Robert dismisses this possibility but can move Jack out of town if he can find evidence. Jack’s pregnant wife initially rejects her plans but she eventually becomes dependent.
