Emma and John Collingwood, and their daughter, competitive swimmer Mari, set out on vacation to their lake house. Soon after, Mari borrows the family car and drives to the city to spend some time with her friend Paige. When Peggy works as a cash register at a local store, she and Mary meet Justin, a teenager passing through the city who invites both of them back to their roadside motel room to smoke marijuana. While the trio are roaming in Motel’s room, Justin’s family members returned: Krug, Justin’s father; Francis, Justin’s uncle; and Sadie, Krug’s girlfriend.

Krug shows Justin a local newspaper in which pictures of Krug and Sadie are on the front page, and which explains how Sadie and Francis drove Krug out of police custody and killed two officers transporting him. Assuming that it would be very risky to let Peggy and Mari go, the gang kidnaps them and uses their car to leave the city. While Krug discovers the highway, Mari celebrates him to take a road that leads to his parents’ lake house; Mari then tries to jump out of the vehicle, but the crew collides with a tree due to the fight between the passengers. Frustrated by Mari’s attempt to escape, Sadie and Francis move to kill Mari and Paige as they crawl from the rubble. Krug forced Justin to touch Mari’s breasts “Be a man.” Attempted to teach.
